From Spanish to Mandarin, Hindi to Arabic, we live in a diverse global marketplace that requires fluency in many of the world’s most-spoken languages. You can’t be expected to know it all when getting your message out on VOIP, and it all comes down to making a sound decision with your professional recording services. No fear! We’ve got a few great tips on how to make the most out of your experience:
- Determine The Right Tonality
No, this doesn’t mean standing in front of the mirror talking into a hairbrush in different accents (lets, ahem, leave that to the professionals). What you will need to consider is how different languages and cultures perceive different tones.
Think about how much context can become lost in a text message. That’s because the tonality is missing! The same can happen through different cultures. One way of reading a message could be taken in a different way, even if you use the same tone. Remember that what works for one market may not have the desired effect in another!
2) Ask for Samples
One of the easiest ways to get what you’re looking for? Ask to hear it, of course! Due to deadlines and budgets, this won’t always be an option. However, you can most likely get samples of previous work for the market you’re trying to reach, and for the type of voice over work you’re trying to achieve.
Ask us to see our previous work or tell us what you’re trying to achieve, and we’ll do our best to get you samples!
3) Cross Your T’s and Dot Every I
We don’t want you to just take our word for it. We want you to take our word AND their word! There should always be some type of quality assurance with a voice over translation, whether that’s through who you hired to record, or taking it upon yourself.
Think about this: When people are hearing your voice over translation message, there’s nobody readily available to answer questions if a word was mixed up during the translation, or pronounced in a way that native speakers can’t understand.
We provide you with a transcript of the completed translation, so you’re never at a loss for words and can make sure it’s what you want before carrying out the project.
